Do you believe in the idea of “loving like you’ve never been hurt?”
 
It is a beautiful notion. One that appears to create a lightness and freedom to explore the depths of our own hearts. But what if I told you that the absence of pain merely strips us from becoming our true self filled with empathy and understanding while misinterpreting what love truly is; unwavering and unconditional.
 
Both love and pain require us to lean into parts of ourselves that lay dormant; silently waiting to be nurtured in order to bloom. And just like a garden, pain exposes our roots; allowing for new water and soil to come in and help us move forward on a growth journey; slowly and beautifully as God intended.
 
To love like you’ve never been hurt is not the goal. Now, to love... To love without fear even after life has dealt a “poor hand”; that is where true freedom lies. That is where you’re
journey truly begins.
